Bio

Caitlin Carleton is an award-winning actor and filmmaker (director, writer, and producer) from Cleveland, Ohio, based in Los Angeles. Her work explores stories of second chances and finds humor in life’s most complicated moments.

As an actor, Caitlin has appeared in dozens of films, series, and plays, including television roles on FX’s Snowfall, Freeform’s Party of Five, and Investigation Discovery’s Betrayed. Her performances are known for their honesty, wit, and emotional depth.

Her latest short film, Are You There? (Director/Producer), is a poignant drama about a woman who begins to rebuild her life through mysterious messages left on an answering machine. Her earlier short, Fantasy Pony (Director/Producer), a mockumentary about girls who collect model horses, premiered at Dances With Films and earned multiple awards including Best Ensemble and Best Mockumentary. She also created the comedy web series Difficult Conversations (Director/Producer), which won Best Web Series at the Toronto International Film Festival, and wrote and directed Blackout, a raw exploration of addiction and personal decline.

Caitlin’s next project, Step One, marks her debut feature as a director. She wrote the screenplay and is currently developing the film, continuing her focus on intimate, character-driven storytelling with humor and heart.

Through her company, Red Sage Productions, Caitlin has developed and produced original films, pilots, and stage projects, collaborating with artists who share her passion for authentic, emotionally grounded storytelling.

When she’s not on set, Caitlin is a dedicated triathlete and backpacker who finds creative inspiration on the trails and open roads of California.
